IF Half.
Legs were tired from the get-go (surprise, surprise...). First mile is down hill, followed by just under a mile of flat and uphill then another 2 downhill. I took it really easy on the downhills. Let a few girls fly by me. As soon as we hit the flats I passed them and started chipping away at the 1st palce girl. I ran really strong and even though my legs were pretty beat up from the past month and a half of racing I managed to chip 1 minute from last years time. Course was a little short so doesn't count as a PR, but I still managed 6:47s. 1st place was only 1:30 ahead of me and she flew down the hill so I think my flats were faster than hers. And given that my legs were toast I was happy overall. 3rd place was almost 10 min. behind me.
Legs are spent now. I was thinkning about a tri this weekend, but I think my legs need rest. So no race this weekend and kids are doing a tri the next weekend so I have 2 weeks to recover and get some slow easy miles in. Hard to drop to such low mileage mentally.
Then a 5 mile race, hilly half and 10k then a flat half I would like to have a nice time at. I have been running really stong on fatigued legs so I should be able to PR.
