This was just a mess of a race for me all around.... I ran an extra 1.5 miles (2nd year running the wrong out and back route...AHHH)
Didn't eat much before the race- couple bites of a granola bar. Started in the dark with the 50kers- didn't even think about running in the dark, luckily I only had to run half blind for about 10 minutes before the sun came up.
Legs felt fine but energy was low. Took B12 before the race and had 2 caffeine gels so that helped a little. stomach was uneasy the entire race. Ran 1st/2nd with the lead guy.
25kers started 2 hours after me. I think the times for the 25kers was messed up or I ran more than 1.5 miles more than them. My time was 4 minutes faster than last year, but I think I ran about 0.50 miles more last year. But compared to the other 25kers my time was slow. I still managed to come in 2nd woman, but my overall time was off.
Frustrating, but just have to redeem myself in the next race...
