Firecracker 5k. Tempo run before the ahlf this weekend. Felt pretty good- some young buck was racing against me- not moving over, blocking me from passing him, elbowing me a bit- guess he didn't realize I was a 35 yr old female.... :)
Was planing to out kick him, but my stomach started to act up the last mile so I didn't want to push it too much. 1.5 mile cool down.

| Star Valley Half. CR was 1:30 so my goal was to break the CR. Felt srong, no gu on the course so I did it without fuel (forgot to grab one in IF). Bunch of young girls went out really fast- first few miles are pretty good downhill then flat/slight downhill the rest of the course. Picked all the young girls off at about 5miles when the course flattened out.
Two college girls were in front of me and we were all going about the same pace. I was slowly gainining on them, but not enough distance to catch them. They finished about 200 yds in front of me. Broke the CR.
Went to the lake and skied for the rest of the day. Legs were feeling it yesterday.

| 1 mile relay to kick off the day- used it for my warmup. 6:11/mile
5 mile run. Ran as a tempo run for the half this week. Race started late so we were running at 10am and it was toasty. Think some people cut about half a mile off of the course so the results have a guy beating me and a woman on my heels, but no one was around me at all...
Finished the day running the kids fun run with my kids and about 13 others (ages 4-11) from our soccer and baseball teams. It was a blast watching most of them complete their first race and the littles ran the entire way!!

| Woke up with a still stiff neck/shoulders and debated on just staying in bed...
Started off conservative on the downhill with only 1 female in front of me. Figured I would catch her on the flats.
Flattened out and started to work on closing the gap. Closed in with about a mile left, but didn't want to make my move until we were a little closer to the finish so we wouldn't have to sprint the last mile.
Sprinted the last quarter mile and ended up about 2 seconds behind her. She started a few seconds behind me so my finish time was about 8 seconds behind her.... glad I didn't beat her by 2 seconds only to find out that I really didn't beat her.
Should have moved past her sooner. The end came up sooner than I thought it would.
About 45 seconds slower than I was last year.
